The large holiday villa is built in traditional Catalan style. It is situated in a quiet location in the village of Villelongue dels Monts in the Roussillon region in the South of France, just 20 minutes from the Mediterranean Sea and in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The two roof terraces offer sweeping views of the countryside, from the Albera Massif right down to the sea. The garden of the detached villa features a private swimming pool and a barbecue. The pool is 8.5 m long and 1.5 m deep. The pool is fenced off for the safety of small children.

The generously sized holiday home has 5 double bedrooms amounting to 10 beds: two rooms have double beds and three rooms have twin beds. The house also has three showers, a bath and four toilets: one bathroom with shower, bath and toilet, two bathrooms with a shower and toilet, plus there is a separate guest toilet. A cot and high chair are available for small children. The house is suitable for large and small groups and families (max. 10 people).

The spacious living and dining room has a long solid wood dining table and a relaxing seating area around the fireplace. The unique Catalan architecture including a gallery, indoor stairwell and a 10-metre-high ceiling give the interior a wonderful Mediterranean feel. Thanks to the high ceiling it remains nice and cool even on hot summer days. The long dining table is big enough to seat everyone at mealtimes. The three-piece suite around the fireplace is the ideal place to sit and chat.

For the guests’ convenience, there are various games as well as information about the local area in the living room. The living room provides access to the south patio with the garden, pool and brick barbecue. The living room, gallery and kitchen offer plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves indoors, even on rainy days.

A wooden staircase in traditional Catalan style leads to the upper floor where there is a gallery with a reading area, a large sundowner terrace and a separate bedroom with its own en-suite bathroom and balcony. The varied mix of larger spaces and more private, cosy corners amounts to 220 square metres of indoor space and 60 square metres of outdoor terraces. As a result, the villa offers lots of space for various activities, from reading, listening to music and sleeping to swimming, cooking or even working.

Conveniently, each of the villa’s four balconies and terraces faces in a different direction. The large sundowner terrace on the first floor offers stunning views of the mountains, the village church and the wider countryside all the way to the sea at Argelès-sur-Mer. This terrace faces the southwest, making it ideal for drinks and evening meals as you watch the sun set. The large south-facing patio is in the garden between the pool and the barbecue. The two smaller balconies lead off from the kitchen and the gallery.

The large kitchen is fully equipped with a gas hob, electric oven, extractor hood, dishwasher, microwave, large refrigerator including freezer compartment, coffee maker and dinnerware for 10 people. The kitchen table is ideal for smaller meals or as a preparation area when cooking. Leading off from the kitchen is a covered dining area for al fresco dining or breakfast in the morning sun.

The villa has electric heating and there are mobile fans in the bedrooms. There is a reading light next to each bed. The bedrooms are carpeted and all other rooms have tiled floors. All the windows are fitted with wooden shutters.

The third bathroom, the table tennis table and the washing machine are in the basement. Other facilities in the villa include an internet connection (WLAN/Wi-Fi), 8 garden chairs, 2 deckchairs, 8 sun loungers, large and small tables on the terraces, a rotary dryer and drying racks, a garden shower (for rinsing off the chlorinated pool water), a pool cover, pool heating (for October-April), a sand filter and recirculation pump in the pool, and a garage.

The holiday villa was built in 1976. The terraces have been specially designed to make best use of the light at different times of the day. The total plot is 978 square metres with fencing all the way round. There are other residential properties in the immediate vicinity.
